On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, I took Jaidy to Sprinkler Park. It's located by 120th and Center and it's hidden in the housing track behind the dollar movies. If you follow the road behind the dollar movies back into the housing track - you should be able to find it just past the school. It's free and a total blast !!
Here are Jaidy's comments about the Sprinkler Park:
"Sprinkler park is sooooo much fun !! You touch the black top of the blue holder and then the sprinklers come on. I went under the buckets yesterday and I screamed when the water came down. I runned through the water when the water was coming from the snake. I ran through the rainbow. I played with Dachon and DaJai yesterday. On Tuesday I played with my cousin Faith. I had the bestest time ever and it was a blast !!"
There is a playground as well at the park that is in the shape of a ship. We love going there on hot days. The water is cold, and there is plenty of room to layout. Somebody brought their shorthaired dog there the other day, and their dog ran through the sprinklers, cooling off and licking all of the water. It's the best - really !!
Jaidy says, "I went under the rainbow, and it was the best day ever !!"

Meh. It was ok, but I wasn't impressed. There weren't a lot of people there, but there is almost no shade as there are no trees. The pavilion is very small and if it is even slightly busy it's hard to find parking, plus the playground is all sand, which isn't a good combination with water.
Although I haven't checked out the others yet, Omaha has 4 sprinkler parks. http://www.ci.omaha.ne.us/parks/Pools/spraygrounds.htm shows a list of them. I wouldn't reccomend Kountze though because in past years it has been the site of a number of shootings, and although it isn't common, I prefer to stay away from parks that have had any shootings. :)
