Sidewalk Chalk, Hopscotcher, and Sprinklers !!

We bought some new sidewalk chalk yesterday, as I have a budding artist in the house. Her perspective is so amazing in her drawings that I think she is probably doing 3rd grade artwork. She drew a picture of a hand (no other part of the body) coming into the picture bouncing a basketball. Out in the distance she drew the sun, the court & the hoop. I was just tickled pink when her Teacher complimented her. It's my favorite drawing. She loves to spend the summer drawing all of the time. Last year, I must have had over 300 drawings.

This year we are saving trees as we have a house now, and she is drawing on the sidewalk which is easily hosed down. She had a great idea. "Mommy will you draw me a hopscotcher on the sidewalk ?" I quickly obliged. That kept us busy for awhile.

When it got too hot, she would turn on the sprinkler & run through it. This kept her busy most of the afternoon while I caught up on some housework. She drew me a picture of Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn today & I am always thrilled to see her new Artwork. I am a Mom, so most of us would brag, but she really is good for her age. Both Paulie and I are artists, so she inherited the best gifts from both of us !!

I love her words she makes up like Hopscotcher. It seems like every word she makes up ends in "er" or "y" and it always puts a smile on my face.
