Jaidy and I went to the Planetarium yesterday. It was very educational and although she kept asking the last 20 minutes - How much longer Mom ? - It was very cool. I love astronomy and she tells me when she grows up she wants to be an Astronaut amongt all kinds of cool things.
Here is the list of all she aspires to be: Astronaut, Artist, Teacher, Firefighter, Doctor, Dentist, Chef, Singer, Actress, a Horserider (a cow girl), a Haircutter, a Beauty Shopper, Guitar Girl, a Nurse, and somebody's neighbor.
I have a long list of things to introduce her to, so she can narrow down her choices later in life. If she were able to do all of these things later in life, wouldn't she make the coolest Astronaut of all ?
She is bugging me to go sew her a new skirt with a nautical theme, so gotta run soon.
We laid under the stars last night & found Venus, Polaris, Big Bear (Ursa Major), Little Bear (Ursa Minor), Big Dipper, Little Dipper, and a bunch of other cool stuff we learned about. If you are in the Omaha area and love the stars, be sure to check out the Planetarium on Aug 3, or 4th at 2pm to see the Summer Skies show. It's worth the $3 to learn more about our solar system & Jaidan was excited to get out her Kids Encyclopedia and read more about the Earth in Relationship to the Solar System last night. It's always the bomb when your child begs for more knowledge.
As a Mom I am Teacher, Chef, Nurse, Doctor, Conselor, and so much more. I love inspiring her to acheive all that she can in life !!
I want to pitch a tent before the end of the summer, and camp out in the back yard - that would be awesome !!
We went out right after the Planetarium for a Root Beer Float & Vanilla Milk Shake over at Fudruckers. The Planetarium is located at 67th & Dodge in the UNO Science building. John runs the place, and if you have kids, he can suggest all kinds of cool cultural events to take your kids to. He is so filled with knowledge and has suggested a bunch of cool things for me to take Jaidy to this summer.
July 16 through 20th- taking Jaidy to Kiddy College at Metro. Will blog about it later.
